Diddlefinger

Japan related — 5 June 2007

Why is Diddlefinger noteworthy ? Because most English language sites with information about Japan only feature addresses in romanji (for example “15-3 Sakuragaoka-cho, Shibuya-ku” instead of “渋谷区桜丘町15-3″) not realizing that it is virtually useless since no online maps (that I know of at least) offers romanji address search. You’re left with an address you can read but that you can’t easily locate on a map.

Romanji address search wasn’t available, until now that is, because Diddlefinger allows you to do just that: locate Japanese address written in romanji on Google maps.
